Hood sensor switch is my guess. (137 views) 
Message: I believe (and I do not have SMG, so I am going from memory here) that there is a separate hood switch for the SMG (2 switches under the hood, 1 specifically for SMG). If that switch is not engaged the car will not start.

SMG guys, care to comment? Is this total farce I am spouting here?
